FOGG works with City of Colorado Springs Parks, and Cultural Services Department, the public schools, the Garden of the Gods Foundation, the Rocky Mountain Field Institute (RMFI), Trails and Open Spaces Coalition and other conservation organization to preserve and protect the park and maintain park facilities.

As a result of FOGG advocacy, the city has planned and budgeted for a number of important upgrades and enhancements to the park over the next year:

  • car, bike and pedestrian counters at all 4 entrances to the park this fall (2016)
  • Bike and pedestrian lanes will be added to roads through the park (Sept 2016)
  • 2017 city budget includes upgrades to the bathroom facilities next to the main parking lot and the installation of security cameras

We continue to advocate for gates at park entrances and funding for a transportation study and update to the Garden of the Gods master plan.

FOGG provides ongoing financial support to RMFI for trail restoration, erosion control, and re-vegetation, fencing and signs – $15,000 in 2015 and $15,000 in 2016.

We lead a monthly volunteer clean-up of 30th Street and participate in Park Clean-Up Days
